Fall 2014 Info
Dear Potential New Members,
Kappa Alpha Theta whooshfully welcomes you to UTD! We are all just as excited about Recruitment as you are and we cannot wait to meet each and every one of you at the beginning of the school year. When we all went through Recruitment, we knew there was something extra special about Theta, and now we want to share that feeling with you.
Theta fosters friendship, scholarship, leadership and most importantly, sisterhood. Coming to college is a huge transition that can be scary at times, but having a support system with new sisters behind you provides so much comfort. Theta is a home away from home for us all. Your new sisters will be there to cheer you on when you ace your first exam and comfort you when you are feeling homesick. Joining this sisterhood has given us a family to love and laugh with as we grow into mature and wonderful leading women.
As new members you will not only be involved in fun sisterhood events and parties, but we will also be there to help you with your academics. Theta has a strong academic background, which includes everything from group study sessions. UTD Thetas also have a strong impact on our campus and in our community. Our annual Theta 5K run, held over UTD’s Family Weekend, supports Court Appointed Special Advocates, or CASA. It is a great opportunity to hang out with your sisters while getting involved in both the UTD Greek and Richardson community.
For us, Thinking Theta is a decision that has enriched our college experience and will last us a lifetime. Joining a sorority provides an immediate sense of belonging. We hope that you can become a part of this wonderful group of ladies and find a place where you will always belong with Theta.
